In my quest to find positive posts and help for women and men going through menopause, I came across the effervescent Pauline McCarthy. Now this is one lady determined to prove we can get through menopause and emerge as new individuals (she uses the analogy of butterflies) ready for challenges and to grab life’s riches.
Pauline is a very positive person. In 2012 she performed a stage show “The Pearls of Pauline – Pearls of Wisdom, Compassion & Joy for Menopausal Women” – a stage show combining self help talks, lots of humour, some upbeat songs and other inspiring artistic modes of communication.
As she says on her website, “Women attending the show go home inspired and comforted knowing that they are not alone going through this Change of Life and armed with lots of tips of how to thrive through their menopause and those men who either had the courage to come along or where dragged along by their partner left having a better understanding of what the special woman in their lives was going through. It is they, after all, who have to put up with our mood swings, memory loss and tossing off of the blankets in the middle of the night to name but a few idiosyncrasies of menopausal symptoms.
Still, I was only able to reach out and help a relatively few women (and the men in their lives) and so, I offer MenopauseMorph.com to you my darlings in the hope that I can assemble as much information and support regarding all things related to the Menopause for you.”
Her website offers advice and support and now Pauline has produced a series of podcasts called also called Menopause Morph where “experts from many fields give advice to help women thrive through their menopause and emerge as the amazing women nature intended us to be. Not just advise on how to cope with menopause symptoms but a range of topics to help us thrive through the Change-of-Life and beyond.”
At the moment there are three podcasts but she will be adding one a week.
I was one of those fortunate enough to be interviewed by her on the importance of laughter during menopause and you can listen to that interview on iTunes or Stitcher. If you subscribe to the channel, you’ll be able to download all the podcats for free and they are definitely worth listening to.
You can find out all about Pauline at the website Menopause Morph. Do check her out.
